Preterm Birth Risk Assessment
Service Description
Our Preterm Birth Risk Assessment is designed to identify your risk of early labour and help you feel informed about the next steps. The appointment includes a detailed review of your pregnancy and medical history, followed by an accurate transvaginal ultrasound measurement of your cervical length (the most reliable way to assess the cervix). You’ll receive a clear explanation of what your results mean for you, and—if needed—a tailored plan for ongoing monitoring or referral into the right specialist pathway. It’s a calm, sensitive, consultant-led assessment focused on supporting you with evidence-based guidance and reassurance. During the scan our specialist will perform a full wellbeing check of your baby including measurement of your baby's growth if appropriate, the fluid around your baby and assess the placenta to ensure that the pregnancy is progressing as expected.
Cancellation Policy
The Pregnancy Experts does not guarantee continued treatment with a named midwife or doctor, unless this has been specifically purchased as part of your package. If you are unable to attend your appointment, we require 24 hours’ notice. We will try our best to facilitate an alternative mutually convenient time. Failure to give the required notice will result in you being charged the full cost of the service. Please arrive for your appointment 5 minutes in advance so that the necessary paperwork can be completed. Late arrival may result in reduced treatment time or forfeiting of the appointment. The Pregnancy Experts will endeavour to ensure that your appointment runs to time; however, should we need to cancel or postpone your appointment at short notice, we will make every effort to contact you in advance. Prior to your appointment we will inform you of any preparation required in advance of your treatment. Failure to follow the guidelines may result in cancellation of your appointment, reduced treatment time, or additional fees being charged.

We only offer services to patients 18 years and older.
The scan room is located on the 1st floor. Therefore, unfortunately, we cannot offer ultrasound assessments to those with significant mobility problems.
