Mr Martin Maher

Martin is a Consultant Obstetrician specialising in high risk obstetrics & fetal medicine & is dedicated to improving the outcomes for women with complex pregnancies. He has extensive experience in ultrasound practice. Since starting as an NHS consultant in 2016 he has developed the local Fetal Medicine Unit into a regional referral service. 

He commenced the Placenta Clinic in 2017 for women with fetal growth restriction and the Rainbow Clinic in 2019 for women who have experienced a previous pregnancy loss.

He is currently the Clinical Director of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, the Clinical Lead for Maternity for the Lancashire & South Cumbria region and is the Ultrasound Training Lead for the North West School of O&G.

He has previously sat on the Council for the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RCOG) representing NW England and contributed to numerous local/national/international publications.
